Sept 28, 2014- still pregnant!

I am only 2 days until Brody's due date and he is being a stubborn boy! We are all ready to meet our little guy! It's definitely a waiting game at this point in time. I am trying to not get frustrated at the fact that I am still pregnant. I have been having subtle contractions for the last three days but not the real thing yet. Everything still looks good as far as keeping him in my belly so the doctors are not in a rush to induce me or anything like that. We are very blessed that he is healthy and so am I. I go back to the doctor on Wednesday Oct. 1, the day after my due date to get checked again if he hasn't made his arrival. Let's hope I don't have to make it to this appointment!

Everything is completely ready for baby's arrival. His room is ready, the car is packed, mom and dad are ready, and so is everyone else. Now we just have to convince Brody that it is time for his debut into the world! Fingers crossed that he comes TONIGHT!!! I feel like I have been saying that for about 2 weeks now. Well, maybe because I have been saying that! Weeks 37-40 have been tough. I am huge and uncomfortable but I am sure it'll all be worth it once he is here.

Friday was my last day of work. Yes, I am the crazy one who worked until 4 days from my due date. It was hard but helped me keep my mind off of giving birth and when he would come. I was very tired after work each day last week but now I am rested and ready to meet him!  Jacob still has class and everything so hopefully I will go into labor when he is home and not have to worry about contacting him at the school. Good news is that he doesn't have patients scheduled this week so he will not be in the middle of a dental procedure when and if I do have to call him there.

We are very anxious to meet our son so hopefully he decides to come ASAP!! =) Today (Sunday) we are being lazy and resting up. We've watched tv and washed loads of clothes. Jacob swept the floors and dusted. (Maybe we are nesting a little bit?!) Now we are sitting on the couch basically waiting for labor to start. Will it ever? lol.... Later today we plan to go to Cooper's Rock to walk around and make s'mores and hot dogs. It's a beautiful day out so we are going  to make the best of the afternoon together.

=)
Until next time,
B

32 weeks! Lots of exciting things have happened....

I can't believe I have neglected posting for so long. I have been enjoying my summer vacation and all things baby. This week I am 32 weeks pregnant and growing everyday! The baby weighs over 4 lbs and loves to kick his mommy! I am loving every minute of it. Backaches are a pain but nothing unbearable..yet! We go tomorrow for our 32 week checkup. I am going to the Dr. every 2 weeks now and soon it'll be every week. Oh my!
Tonight we are going to our first birth and labor class at the hospital. We are excited to see where Brody will be born and learn more about birth of course!

Since the last time I posted lots has happened. We went on vacation to the beach and shopped til we dropped buying baby clothes and other goodies. We had a great time and can't wait to take Brody next year! After vacation we came back home for about 2 weeks and then headed back to Logan for our baby shower and Jacob's reunion. We had a great time but a two week trip home is exhausting! I was so happy to come home to our house and sleep in my own bed!

Jacob and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary on July 24th. We were home so we booked a room at the Chief Logan Lodge. It was very nice and relaxing. Logan's best kept secret for sure! It's hard to believe we have been married for 4 years and have a baby on the way! <3

Our shower was on July 26th. We had a great turn out-- over 60 people. Baby Brody received tons are clothes, sleepers, blankets, and much much more. He is one blessed baby for sure! After we got everything home and unpacked, we started organizing the nursery. It's almost finished completely now! Jacob has worked super hard hanging everything for me and assembling everything. He is such a good husband and daddy! We still have a few things to straighten up and clean before he gets here but for the most part I think we are in good shape! I even washed up his coming home outfits yesterday. Dreft detergent is pricey but it smells so good! I can't wait to get Brody in his little outfits and show him off!

Another big thing that we are excited about is that mom and dad leased their apartment. They are officially baby sitting Brody in January! yay! We can't wait for Brody to meet his grandparents (& great grandparents!) and so happy that he doesn't have to be in day care. He gets to be snuggled bu his Nana and Pappy, G-pa (whatever!) everyday!

Only about 7 weeks are left before Brody's debut to the world. We cannot wait to meet our little guy! <3

25 weeks!

Today I am 25 weeks 2 days pregnant with our little guy! He is growing each day and tumbling around in mommy's tummy. We just love feeling him flip flop around. Jacob makes me laugh when he puts his hand on my belly and gets a big "Hi dad!" kick. He always says "man, he's really moving around in there!".

We have been super busy over the last three weeks getting our big stuff for Brody put together. His nursery has all of the big furniture now and it's all assembled and set up. (Thanks babe for all if your hard work!) Also thanks to Mom & Dad, Jim & Dixie, and Mamaw and Papaw for buying all of Brody's big items. =)
We love his nursery and can't wait to get the most important thing in it... BABY!!!

I had my 24 week dr. appt. last week and it went good. The dr. was his normal "chilled out" self and did the basic checkup. Everything was normal and looked good. Brody's heart rate was 150. I go back to the Dr. on July 10 for my glucose test and our 4D ultrasound. Eeeekk! I am so excited for that. (glucose test, not so much!)

22 weeks!

I am 22 weeks and 2 days pregnant today. Baby Brody loves to kick and is getting stronger and stronger! We are able to feel him rolling and flipping around in there! It's so cool! This week Brody is a little over 1 lb and is approx. 8-10 in. long (not counting his legs!)
He has eyelashes, eyebrows, and maybe even a little hair on his head! All of the things I have read say that he looks like a mini doll this week. Therefore, he's already cute! He can hear my voice and other noises now too! This week one of the really neat developments is his sense of touch. When we rub my belly he should be able to feel it and may react. =)

My bump is starting to get bigger everyday. People are noticing it now and giving it little pats. I don't mind! This week we have been getting the closet ready for all of the baby clothes Miranda gave us. We have so much already and haven't even had a shower yet. We are definitely blessed! The closet project was so much fun. I can't wait to do the rest of the baby's room. We are going on Saturday to hopefully get a crib and other goodies in Pittsburgh. Yay!  Here are some pics of the closet and my 22 week chalkboard!

20 weeks! Half way!

We went for our 20 week Dr. Appt. on Tuesday. Baby Long is halfway baked in mommy's oven! Everything looked good and he is already a big boy. He weighs approx. 14 oz., only 2 more oz. until he is a whopping 1 pound! We really enjoyed the ultrasound this time. We were able to see all of his body parts and he even waved at us at one point. (at least it looked like a little wave!)

Other big news since the last time I wrote is that the baby is KICKING! He really started to flip flop around about midway through 18 weeks. I can feel him at various times through the day. He really likes to bounce around 10:30 at night. Jacob was able to feel him too! The kicking is definitely my favorite part of pregnancy! It's so neat. Last night I felt him roll around! I love it!

My bump is finally starting to pop too. When I wear tight clothes you can really see him sticking out! I bought a new dress at Gabe's over the weekend and everyone was commenting on my cute baby bump at work. I'm happy to finally look pregnant and not just fat! =)  Here are my most recent pictures.

18 weeks preggo with our baby BOY!

It's a boy! I feel like a lot of baby related excitement has happened over the last 2 weeks. We found out at our ultrasound that the baby is a little boy! We are overjoyed! The gender reveal party was perfect. We had a blast and so did everyone else! Team blue was the winner! It was a beautiful day so we were able to have the party outside. Almost everyone came that we invited. I think we counted 36 guests. We are definitely blessed with awesome family and friends! Everyone is super excited that we are having a boy. We have decided to stick with Brody Ross as his name. I think it has the perfect little jingle. "BRODY!!!! Come here!!" Doesn't that sound good?! We think so!

G-pa, Nana, Mommy,Daddy, Mamaw, Gammy, and Pappy

The Reveal! BOY!

Team BLUE!

Team PINK!

Over the past week or so I have been feeling little "rumbles" that are pretty consistent. I think they are the baby. I haven't felt a hard "kick" yet but I am pretty sure the little flutters belong to our little man. They are in almost the same spot on my belly every time. They are on the left side near my belly button. It looked like he was going to have long legs on the ultrasound so it could be him!

We purchased our first baby item over the weekend. I found a Mamaroo for sale on craigslist and we got it for only $100! It looks brand new. We are super excited. Brody is going to love it!

This weekend is our "Baby Moon" to Niagra Falls. We are leaving on Friday and will be back sometime Monday. I can't wait to get away and relax by the falls. We are going to get a couples massage too! John R. and Katrina are going with us. We are going to have a great time! I will post pics later!

Here are my 18 week pictures. =)

16 weeks! He or She?!!

I am 16 weeks today! We have had a big week! My doctor appointment and ultrasound was yesterday and we know what the baby is!! I am not going to put it on here until Saturday after our reveal party! But we are really excited! Today by belly feels huge! It could be due to the fact that I ate way to much at dinner. Oopsie. =) So far I've gained about 10 lbs. I can partly blame the weight gain to my weekly Wendy's pitstops. It would be much easier to resist the craving if I didn't drive by Wendy's on my way home from work! Not to mention I am always starving when I leave. Speaking of work, I don't think I said the last time I wrote that I was offered the job to stay at Brookhaven. Ofcourse I am extremely excited! Another bit of good news is that Nana and G-pa (or Grampy or whatever the baby makes up for Dad!) are going to get an apartment to baby sit for us! Yay. THANK YOU!!!!!!!! We couldn't be happier that our little baby will get to spend the day with its grandparents. Now we just have to find an apartment that isn't outrageous. I feel like I am on house hunters!!

The dr. appt. went well yesterday. The baby's heartbeat was 150 bpm this time. The doctor said that it will gradually decrease each time until it reaches its steady number. So far we really like the doctor. Dr. Craig Herring. He's very laid back and relaxed. I feel like a nice calming Dr. is great to have when you're having your first baby! There are two other doctors at Women's Healthcare but we haven't met them yet. I am hoping to get at least one appt. with each of them in the future just in case they are the one who delivers the baby. The 3 doctors share the "call" so I could have any of them.

The ultrasound was way more exciting than the actual Dr. appt.! We got to see the baby in my tummy! It was so cool to see an actual baby instead of a little nugget like my 8 week u/s. We were able to see its legs, arms, head, bladder, and of course its gender! I am really excited for the gender reveal party coming up on Saturday. We are going to share with everyone if its a boy or a girl. The party is at John Randall and Katrina's house. We bought all of the pink and blue stuff yesterday and tonight I made some signs and other crafty things for decorations. =))

I will update and post pictures from the party next week.

Here are my most recent pics!
